Badlands Isle

Sheet 04 of 05

Terms

Draft

These terms are a draft, pending review by the owner and legal review. They are not final.

These terms set out how the Badlands Isle community works and what we ask of you.

4.1

What these terms cover

These terms cover the Badlands Isle website and, once they launch, its game server, companion app and Discord. By using them you accept these terms. The game server and companion app are not open yet.

4.2

Who may play

You need your own Steam account and your own copy of The Isle.

Minimum age: Placeholder Minimum age, owner to set.

4.3

Accounts

You sign in with Steam. Each player plays on one account. You are responsible for what happens on your account, so keep your Steam login to yourself and do not share or sell access.

4.4

The rules page is binding

The rules page is part of these terms and it is binding. There is one rules page, and the version shown there is the one that applies.

4.5

Device checks and enforcement

The companion app runs device checks so that staff can find alternate accounts and enforce bans. The privacy policy explains exactly what is checked, and that raw hardware values never leave your PC.

Using another account or another device to get around a ban is ban evasion, and it breaks these terms.

4.6

Staff review, no automatic bans

Detection tools raise flags and nothing more. There are no automatic bans, and a member of staff makes every ban decision. Possible sanctions are a kick, a timed or permanent ban, and a device ban, which is a separate action with its own reason.

If you are banned, you are told the reason.

4.7

Appeals

You can appeal a ban through a Discord ticket, including after a game ban. Quote the reference id you were given. A member of staff answers the appeal.

4.8

Voice conduct, no recording

Proximity voice follows the same rules as everything else: no harassment, no microphone spam, no soundboards. Voice is carried live and it is not recorded. If that ever changes, these terms and a notice in the app will change first.

4.9

Independence

Badlands Isle is an independent community. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the developers of The Isle. The Isle and its related names belong to their owners.

4.10

Availability

This is a community project. The server, the app and the website can go offline for restarts, maintenance or faults, and features can change or be withdrawn. We do not promise that any of them will always be available.

4.11

Changes to these terms

We can change these terms by publishing a new version on this page. If you keep playing after that, the new version applies to you.

Effective date: Placeholder Effective date, owner to set.

4.12

Ending your access

You can stop playing at any time. Staff can suspend or end your access if you break these terms or the rules. Records that remain afterwards are kept as the privacy policy describes.

4.13

Liability

The platform is provided as it is, with no warranty. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss of in-game progress or for indirect loss. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

4.14

Governing law

Governing law: Placeholder Governing law, owner to set.

Jurisdiction: Placeholder Jurisdiction, owner to set.

4.15

Contact

The platform is run by Placeholder Legal entity, owner to supply.
